Advent Calendar Day 13

 These items here also belonged to my grandmother.  They are not particular favourites of mine but do show the vriety of some of her belongings that have been passed down.

The first item is a German beer stein.



The next few items are just a few of her vintage crested ware.  Some are Goss, some Swan and some other makes too.


All these crests are Kent linked, where my grandmother was born.  One is a Dover crest, one Folkestone and one for the North Kent Buffs.

There are a variety of shapes from those above, a tricorn vase, a candle stick holder and other novelty shapes.

Crestedware is typically described as small white ceramic miniature souvenir models bearing the coat of arms of the destination from which they were purchased. They were predominantly made between 1858-1939.  It is considered that the most collectable and therefore valuable are those examples manufactured by Goss,
